Gentleman
Michael's newest persona is the Gentleman, an amusing rascal from the turn of the Century, complete with top hat and tails. This fun-loving character performs an original show titled "Elegant Mysteries From the Lost Magical Arts", a classic presentation for today's modern minds.
Part poet, part con man, Gentleman Michael regales his audiences with demonstrations of flim-flammery and chicanery, story-telling and mischief-making. His gentle humor pokes fun at societal conventions. With subtle wit and mellifluous prose, he creates entertainment that enchants as it surprises. This show was a huge hit at the recent Blood Drive sponsored by the San Diego Chargers. People throughout San Diego County and Southern California are raving about the Gentleman Magician Michael E. Johnson.
That's why he recently took top honors at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, appearing at the annual Soapy Smith party to honor America's most famous con man. It must be in his blood. Gentleman Michael's actual Great Great Great Uncle was Dr. D.L.I. Flanders of Sturgis, Michigan, who gained fame and notoriety in the 1800s for selling his "Diffusible Tonic" around the world.
